At Least One Editor Gets It.....

The Motion at the 2007 SBC Annual Meeting in San Antonio has generated enough spin to affect the earth's rotation. But, in my opinion, one observer there, from the media, sure saw what was going on, and what the whole deal means.

Finally some honesty from a SBC paper. In Alabama to boot.

Who woulda thunk it? :)

Life is one surprise after another. And I can vouch for the fact that Bob Terry is about as Baptist as Baptist can be.

I'm having trouble wondering what's so hard about "getting" this. With the exception of Al Mohler, Paige Patterson, some of the students at their seminaries, and a handful of their supporters at the SBC, it appears that just about everyone else "got it."

Of course Baptist Press didn't "get it," but since they are told what to think by some of those who are attempting to put some heavy duty spin on it, what do you expect. Associated Baptist Press, however, because it is independent, did get it. The coverage in Baptists Today, which also doesn't have any axes to grind, was also pretty good.

I haven't asked her yet, but I'm pretty sure Maddie got it, too. Maddie's our dog. I'll have to bribe her with a doggie buscuit to tell me about it, though.

Well, Bob. You direct us to clear thinking once again. It really is that simple.

The only thing that remains to be seen is how the entities that might be affected by this motion, respond to it. Unfortunately, I think we've seen the beginning of that, at the convention itself, and in the arguing and posturing since.

And the beat goes on.......
